2009, so far....

Just 25 days until SoulFest....... I can't believe it, that's less than a month.

This year started out really crappy for me... for about the first 6 months.
But, God has been very good to me, and complaining about every negative thing that happens to me won't get me anywhere. This year, I think I have become a stronger person, and my faith has grown immensely. I've also found out who my real friends are, and that hasn't always been a pleasant experience, but I don't waste time anymore trying to make anybody want to be a part of my life. I think I've also become a bit bolder. Skilly has gone back to his crazy Guinea Pig ways. So, good things have happened in between all the crappy stuff.
Now, the best part of the year has almost arrived. SoulFest. I love SoulFest, I look forward to it all year, and I can't believe it's only 25 days away. Skillet will be headlining the main stage on the first night. I'm so excited. I LOVE music, and I especially love music that glorifies God. On that note, there's also a lot of new music that I'm looking forward to this year...... Thousand Foot Krutch... Skillet.... KJ-52...... Stellar Kart..... Hawk Nelson..... I will be spending a lot of time & money at Bullmoose Music in the next 6 months or so.
I'm also looking forward to finding out what God has planned for me, because I believe that He created me with a purpose. I did not evolve from pond scum....... but I won't go there right now.... another time, I'm sure I'll have something to say about that eventually, among other things.

So, there it is, blog number 2, I guess that's it, not very exciting, but that's all I have on my mind right now, I'm too tired to think anymore, it's 10:50, time for bed. Good night.

Where have all the cashiers gone?

In my last post, when I said "That's a blog for another time", this is that one. Another time has arrived. Over the the past couple of years, I've been hearing the same commentary on the labor market from everybody & their brother. I've even said it myself a few times. "Nobody wants to work". That's an inaccurate statement. It's no secret that the service industry is suffering the most. Yeah, we've heard about fields like plumbing, where not enough people are pursuing careers to replace the professionals that are retiring. I think we could all agree, though, that you are most aware of the "labor shortage" when you are waiting in line. Whether that's at the grocery store, the coffee shop, the bank, or the fast food drive-thru. Nobody wants to work... for customers. It is true, that in March of 2020, a lot of people took time off from work because they were afraid, and some of those people found ways to stay home for a while c...
